The Russian folk tale "Turnip" is loved by children from an early age and was published in 1860 by the folklore researcher A.N. Afanasyev (24.07.1826-05.10.1871) in his collection "Russian Folk Tales". Also, "Turnip" was published in the treatment of K.D.Ushinsky (03.03.1823-03.01.1871) in 1864 in the textbook "Native word", as well as V.I.Dahl (22.11.1801-04.10.1872) in 1870 and A.N. Tolstoy (10.01.1883-23.02.1945) in 1940.
I propose a musical fairy tale with the following characters: the Host, the Turnip, the Grandfather, the Grandmother, the Granddaughter, the Dog, the Cat, and the Mouse. The children wear masks and sing along with the characters.
The author has written the lyrics for all the characters except for the Host and the Grandfather's initial words, "Grow, grow, Turnip."
The vocal range is limited to a sixth ("F" 1.8 - "D" 2.8) in the main key of C-dur.
The "Turnip" sheet music collection is intended for children in the preparatory and junior classes of music schools and children's art schools, where the main work is carried out by vocal teachers and teachers of the special piano or various piano classes in the work on accompaniment. Middle or senior school students can accompany the performance.
